When to ask for help in your private practice

Many private practices start off as solo-preneur adventures. This means you, as the owner, end up wearing a lot of hats. Newsflash, that can be tough when you have only one head. BUT it’s not impossible.
Each one of us brings strengths when we start this journey. Some of us are great with money and understanding numbers (not me). Some of us love to plan and implement strategies (totally me). Others of us just want to do the work of therapy and then put our heads in the sand about the rest. (I’ve been there)
But the truth is, you weren’t meant to do this alone. We need clinical consultation for tough situations with clients. We need an accountant, biller or a bookkeeper. We need an attorney to file our corporate documents. There are a lot of ways that people can help aspects of your business.
But when do you reach out for this support and does it always have to include a coach?
Whenever you feel stuck, I say ask for help. Stuck means, you have been putting off a task that is now overdue or you keep banging your head against a task not able to get it to budge because you have a block or just don’t understand what is needed.
This could look like asking a colleague, talking to a coach, or researching online. All options are wonderful if you….
Trust that the other person knows what they are talking about.
The other person has a proven mastery of what you need help with.
The other person is honest.
The other person has your best interest at heart.
It takes a lot of trust to get the right kind of support. It’s why I love our online community in bootcamp. People all have the knowledge that bootcamp teaches and yet  their application of that knowledge has been unique to them, allowing for lots of varied feedback when supporting colleagues.
So where do you go for support when you feel stuck in your private practice? Share below!
