I often forget how important meditation is. I forget how easy the rubbish of the world can steal in. When things are going well, meditation or rest seems unimportant. There are so many things one can choose to do in a day. The necessity of closing your eyes seems like a an unnecessary chore.
But as in anything important like seeking therapy or taking medication, it’s vital to our upkeep. When things are going well, we can’t let things slide. It’s as important to meditate when we don’t feel stressed as it is when we are.
Building a structure of coping tools, a scaffolding of things to keep you emotionally healthy and physically strong may feel like one more thing you have to do. But if we make it a habit like brushing your teeth, it will feel like a part of your day not a detour from it.
